Oceanside is called “the jewel of the Oregon Coast.” A natural forested amphitheater frames the tiny coastal hill-town. The Blue Door overlooks the village; a changing sea, sky and shoreline of towering cliffs; rugged islands and sandy beach. Our house, built in 1948 and renovated in 2002, is on a quiet lane. Enjoy stunning views in a comfortable, well designed house and large deck. It's only a short walk to the village and the beach.

The house of “The Blue Door” is simple and nicely appointed: timber construction and oak floors. A cathedral ceiling rises above an open living and dining space with a fully equipped kitchen, slate counters and new appliances including range, microwave and dishwasher. We have a fireplace, a stereo and a phone for local calls. Downstairs are two bedrooms with views, one with a queen-size bed and another with two twins, and a full bathroom with shower and laundry. The living room sofa is also a hide-a-bed for two- with a half bath nearby. There is parking for two cars.

The house can accommodate up to six guests. The summer rate is $145/ night (March 15-October 15; weekly rentals receive precedence.) The winter rate is $125/ night (October 16-March 14). The holiday rate is $145/ night. We have a two-night minimum stay. Check-in time is 3pm and checkout time is noon. Smoking is not permitted, nor are pets. Please secure your reservation with a one-night deposit due within one week after booking, with the balance due before the reserved dates. If you need to cancel, let us know at least two weeks before your scheduled visit. And if you will not be able to clean up after your visit, tell us when reserving and we will arrange cleaning for an additional fee.
